Clearbrook Vista seeks out generational businesses within large and growing industries that are ready to transition to the next generation of leadership. Our goal is to build upon a strong existing foundation within the business, utilizing our experience to improve where possible. As investors, we have certain financial criteria which guides our search, but we also value a business based on its history, reputation, and standing in the community.
Our goal is to invest into businesses that uniquely embody our values, to immerse ourselves in their operations and learn what makes them tick, then carry that legacy forward with the existing team in place. Investments into people, operations, and software/marketing will be made where needed to drive revenue growth.
CVP intends to acquire one business at a time, operate directly in management, and commit to its continued stewardship and long-term success.
CVP seeks to acquire a company from an owner who has outgrown the operation, who has intentions to retire, or who has for another reason reached their ideal moment to exit and wants to transition the business into capable hands with minimal impact to existing operations, employees, and customers. In most cases there will be some owner involvement post-closing, to ensure a smooth transition, but we will work with the exiting owner on a timeline that is amenable to their needs.
We prefer businesses within mature and proven industries over emerging industries experiencing rapid and recent growth trends.
We target large and growing industries with fragmentation and opportunities for organic growth, consolidation, or service add ons.
Diverse customer base and high customer retention (low customer churn).
Fundamentally healthy. No distressed or turnaround situations.
Revenues of $1m-10m
10+ years in operation as a company
Minimum three years of positive operations and cash flow
EBITDA of $650,000-$1.5mm
EBITDA margins of at least 15%
